Alas, it's already Tuesday in my timezone, so i spare you my two well-advertiesed '80s rides, and give you this instead:
Hey. Could be worse......
Still with me? How about this:

It's tuesday here as well mate. And someone fucked up the front end of that Ford Sierra :P

What the hell is going on there ?

Nope. According to what i recall, and the wiki says i'm right, they were there all the time - just not on all models. XJ6 came with the two rounds, Sovereign came with these.

I'm not sure what you tagged there mate, 'cause Kinja.. but that is a Ford Tempo (the ruined version of the Ford Sierra :P)

I was talking about the super-weird headlight/turn signal arrangement.

I guessed that much. What happened is that Ford US needed a small(ish) car... so they took the Ford Sierra from Europe
and made the tempo. Not that the Sierra was a looker.. but it was VERY futuristic when it debuted.

Not surprising since Patrick Le Quément was one of the designers, before he made the original Twingo and the Avantime for Renault. I think the three-door looks ok.

The three door with the facelift does look quite OK. Did you know that the Sierra was available with a 5.0 V8 in South Africa?

Uh, no. The Ford Sierra was RWD. The Tempo was a transverse FWD car, based on a lengthened Escort platform.
The Sierra and Tempo had nothing to do with each other. The American version of the Ford Sierra was the Merkur XR4Ti:

I know the Merkur was a Sierra... But I actually thought the Tempo was based on the Sierra when it came to the design, but I know it was a FWD. I should've known that the Tempo was the start of that horrible ford/mazda thingy. My bad mate :)
The Merkur got a shitty engine though, but it was a cool car :)

The Tempo and Sierra may look similar in some ways (they were designed by the same company in the same era, after all), but they're quite different.
And the Tempo wasn't a collaboration with Mazda, either. It was a lengthened Escort.

I did not mean to say that the tempo was a collab with mazda :) But you could get it with the Mazda RF diesel right? Never mind :) I made a mistake, I'll admit that :)

Do a search for Sierra Xr8, they only made 250 of them or so... but they did make them :)
